My classes combine exploration with the technical skills needed to produce, understand, and improve an artist's work. I'm always happy to act as a mentor as well as an instructor for participating students. I offer classes and private instruction taken by both beginners and practicing artists. These courses are designed to adapt to the pace of instruction required for each student.

At Moore I teach high school students in the Young Artists Workshop program. There, I teach Drawing Fundamentals and Portfolio Development, which is an advanced class that undergoes a much more rigorous curriculum than the standard art education classes. Students are led through exercises to coach them on what kind of content makes an effective portfolio as well as studio based assignments in still life, portraiture, figure drawing, and independent projects.
Basic drawing, portrait and figure painting/drawing lessons are available for bookings.
A slower work environment that can fit students of beginner, intermediate, or advanced levels. Typical classes run for 2 hours. Private lessons are done on a 3 class contract. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org

These courses will teach you how to observe and draw objects from life in a realistic style, a fundamental skill for working in any media including painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Using pencil and charcoal and working from still life and models, you will learn several types of line and tonal drawing as well as key concepts such as negative shape, relative measuring, and perspective. Each class features a directed drawing or painting exercise to teach a specific skill. These skills build on one another.
